ABOUT TANZANIA YOUNG ECO PROTECTION

   

  Tanzania Young Eco Protection (TAYEP) is an initiative based in Tanzania that educates and inspires young on environmental conservations, waste managements and green life styles and mobilize them to take actions.

We believe Achieving safe and stable climatic condition in our life time requires the ideas, actions and influence of young people. Thus this initiative seeks to create a new generation of enlighten young people who have the Knowledge , skills, awarness and networks neccessary to provide leadership on environmental challenges.

The Initiative harnesses the use of ICT and new media, video conferencing and documentaries and mobile phones in addressing the challenges of climatic change and environmental management.

OUR AIM

 Our Overall Aim is  to  contribute in improving communities livehoods and managing the environment through sustainable utilization of natural resources and application of environmenatlly sound, economically viable and socially acceptable technologies.

OUR MISSION

To empower young people with skill, ideas, experiences and leadership capacity so as to address environmental issues today and become our next generation of environmental leaders.

  OBJECTIVES

 

(i) Tackiling poverty through promoting sustainable environmental conservation systems which are economically viable and socially accepted.

 

(ii) Fostering rational utilizaion of natural reources for sustainable development in healthy, cleaner and friendly environment in order to ensure food secrity, diversity sources of income and improved livehoods of communities.

 

(iii) Empowering communities to own and manage the environmental resources sustainably using their indigeneous knowledge and incorporating science and technology where necessary.

 

(iV) Stimulate and promote community based income generating activities aimed at reducing income poverty, which are conscious of the environmental impact.

 

(V) Encourage the communities in Tanzania and especially in the lake Victoria basin improve their health status and sanitary conditions and contribute to processes aimed at haltering the ongoing spread of HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other pandemic diseases.

 

(vi) Protect water sources and their environment.

 

(vii) Foster carrying out of studies and research on issues related to environment, economic and social matter.
